1. HERE’S HOW TO ENTER:  Beginning 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on 6/3/08 through 11:59 PM ET on 8/4/08, visit www.espndownthebarrelsweeps.com and follow the on-screen directions to enter the sweepstakes.  Limit one entry per person, per day.  If more than one entry is received per person on the same day, only the first such entry received on that day will be eligible.

2. ELIGIBILITY:  Open only to residents of the 48 contiguous United States or the District of Columbia, who are 13 years of age or older as of date of entry.  Employees of ESPN, Inc., Genius Products, LLC, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and internet agencies and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each, whether or not related, are not eligible.  Entrant will be asked to provide his or her name, address, email address, telephone number(s) and birth date and will be asked if he/she wishes to receive promotional emails.  Entrant will only receive promotional emails if he/she opts to receive them.  Consenting to receive promotional emails is optional and does not have to be agreed to in order to enter or win a prize.  Entrant is responsible for insuring that all contact information is up-to-date and accurate.

3. RANDOM DRAWING: The random drawing to award one Grand Prize will be conducted on or about 8/12/08 from among all eligible entries received by D.L. Blair, Inc., an independent judging organization whose decisions are final.  Odds of winning the Grand Prize will depend upon the number of eligible entries received.  Potential Grand Prize winner will be notified by mail.  Potential Grand Prize winner (or parent/legal guardian if winner is a minor) must sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability within 7 days of attempted notification.  Winner’s guest (who must be winner’s parent/legal guardian if winner is a minor) must sign and return a Release of Liability within 7 days of winner notification.  Noncompliance with the foregoing may result in disqualification and awarding of the prize to an alternate winner.  If any prize notification letter or prize is returned as undeliverable, winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected.  All travelers must possess required travel documents (e.g. valid photo I.D.) prior to departure.  All travelers must agree to travel on dates specified by Sponsor; trip and event dates are subject to change.  Winner and companion must travel on the same itinerary.  Some restrictions may apply. IMPORTANT:  Grand Prize winner and travel companion must each possess a valid passport expiring no sooner than six months after return date of trip.  Travel is subject to availability and U.S. State Department travel advisories in effect at time of trip.  Designation of winner is subject to verification of the Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability.

4. PRIZE & APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE: (1) Grand Prize – A 5 day/4 night trip in July 2009 for two to Puerto Escondido, Mexico to attend the 2009 X Games Surfing Championship.  Trip includes round-trip coach air transportation from major airport nearest winner’s home, hotel accommodations (double occupancy), ground transportation between hotel/airport and between the X Games Surfing Championship event.  (Total ARV:  $2,300.00).  Gratuities and incidental charges not included.  The actual retail value of the trip will depend on winner's point of departure/return.  In the event the X Games Surfing Championship event is postponed or cancelled for weather or any other reason, that portion of the prize will not be awarded.  Prize consists of only the items specifically listed as part of the prize.

5. GENERAL RULES: All income taxes are the sole responsibility of prize winner.  All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.  No purchase necessary.  Void where prohibited by law.  No substitution or transfer of prize by winner permitted.  Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize of equal or greater value.  Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to Sponsor and its agencies to use winner’s name, voice and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.  By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges.  By accepting prize, winner agrees to hold Sponsor, its parent, subsidiary and affiliate companies, their respective shareholders, officers, directors, employees, members, agents and assigns harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of prize.  Winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused by participation in this promotion or use or redemption of any prize.  Sponsor not responsible for typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the sweepstakes or in the announcement of the prize.  In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any sweepstakes materials and the terms and conditions of the Official Rules, the Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control.  Sponsor reserves the right to conduct a background check of any and all records of a potential winner, including without limitation, civil and criminal court records and police reports.  To the extent necessary under law, potential winner shall authorize this background check.  Sponsor may also take all steps necessary to corroborate any information provided to Sponsor by potential winner.  In that regard, potential winner will be obligated to provide necessary contacts and information so that Sponsor may conduct such investigation.  In the event that Sponsor decides in its sole discretion to do a background check of a potential winner, any potential winner who refuses to agree to a background investigation, or who has been convicted of a felony or if information discovered during the verification process is deemed to be potentially harmful to the image of the Sponsor (as deemed by Sponsor in its sole discretion), may be disqualified and an alternate will be selected, if time permits.  In the event that a potential winner is a minor in his/her state of residence, Sponsor reserves the right to conduct a background check, as stated above, of any and all records of minor’s parent or legal guardian.

6. INTERNET CAUTIONS: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS PROMOTION IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.  Not responsible for faulty, incorrect or mistranscribed phone/e-mail transmissions, incorrect announcements of any kind, technical hardware or software failures of any kind including any injury or damage to any person's computer related to or resulting from participating in or experiencing any materials in connection with the promotion, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission that may limit a user's ability to participate in the promotion.  Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the promotion if fraud, misconduct or technical failures destroy the integrity of the program; or if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration or security of the program as determined by Sponsor/judging agency/administrator, in their sole discretion.  In the event of termination, a notice will be posted online and the drawing will be conducted from among all eligible entries received prior to termination.  Any damage made to the Web Site will be the responsibility of the authorized e-mail account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry.  Proof of submitting entries will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor.  In case of dispute as to identity of the winner who enters, entry will be declared made by the registered user (meeting eligibility criteria) of the e-mail account, and if a prize is won, it will be awarded to that registered user.  Any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or the like methods of participation will void all such submissions by such methods.  Sponsor reserves the right to freeze or close an account or to prohibit the participation of an individual/account holder if fraud or tampering is suspected or if the individual/account holder fails to comply with any requirement of participation as stated herein or with any provision in these Official Rules.
